Bully Free Zone

Instead of a merit badge I passed off, I would like to say of a guest blogger that I usually love to say on my Mom's blog. Here it is:

You know that I love guest blogging just like I guest-blogged about my Merit Badge accomplishment and the Marching Band Tour I went to. Right now, I’m about to talk about one Christmas that has happened in 2008, the year when my little brother, Curly was born. There was a bunch of snow in 2008. That much snow was all we had in that year then the snow we had for this Christmas in 2011. That’s kind of sad huh? Well, some people in this family were glad that there wasn’t snow, so that they didn’t have to be scared of driving in it or slip on ice. Well another problem that used to happen was that with this snow we had in 2008, I went to stick my tongue on our lamppost on the edge of our driveway.

That’s kind of like the movie A Christmas Story, the part where the kids forced a kid to stick his tongue on a flag pole. I was lucky that I didn’t get my tongue all the way stuck to the lamppost. Our lamppost was made of fiberglass instead of metal, but everyone thought that I was being funny. They knew I wouldn’t really get my tongue stuck.

Okay, remember what I told you about the part of the kids forcing a kid to stick his tongue on a flagpole? Well I think that’s bullying to others. I’ve never been bullied at school in my life, sort of. I just think it’s a lesson that we do not bully others, otherwise, you’ll get bullied yourself. I made this video for Reflections that talks about bullying. It’s actually a music video with the some parts of the family showing of how bullying is bad.

Now you realized that those are really wonderful things on how to make the world a better place, by just being nice to other people. So whenever you get bullied or put in a situation like that, don’t make it go wrong, just fix it and then the problem will be solved.

***My video has moved on to Region Competition. If it wins there, I will compete at State. We think it's fun, but that's because it is full of our favorite people!***

Backpacking Merit Badge

There is a merit badge that I thought was the hardest to earn. It was backpacking. It was hard because I had to walk 30 miles with a pack on and 3 fifteen milers to earn this. I even had to do some community service before continusing on a very hard jouney.

The number one rule about backpacking is that you have to pack light. Which means you can't pack your giant backpack that weighs more than your weight. You have to pack the necessary equipment when you go on a backpacking trip.

I have done five backpacking trips, I think. One of them was going on a backpacking trip to Haydens Peak. That was the most hardest one to do, because Haydens Peak was mostly uphill. I don't like going uphill with a huge backpack on, because uphill you feel like you don't have enough energy to make it on top. But I like going back when the trip was done, because I have enough energy to go downhill. And every time the leader says, we're almost there, it feels like we're NOT. It's like the leader is mistaken on how much distances there are, but Kings Peak was how I complete the first 15 miler.

I've done some backpacking trips in Mt. Pleasant. That's where my grandmother lives. It was just during the 4th of July weekend and I did one while Camping in Ephraim Canyon. With backpacking in Mt. Pleasant, I had my Mom as a buddy system and then sometimes, they like to rotate from Princess, Crafty, and probably Prima Donna. I completed the second fifteen miler right when we were doing the Kids' Parade for the Fourth of July and I did the  rest afterwards, before we got to go see the fireworks.

While backpacking on Ephraim Canyon was when I had to walk around the lake 30 times with my backpack on in order to complete the last 15 miler. We like to go camping on Ephraim Canyon.

Then last, I might have told you before, that I complete the 30 milers by doing some backpacking at home and preparing a campsite in the backyard, and then complete the rest of the 30 mile trip on Red Castle Mountain. It was not quite bad as Hayden's Peak. We were planning to go to Kings Peak, instead of Red Castle, but we've heard there was a bunch of blizzards in Kings Peak, so we decided Red Castle and it was a little hard as Hayden's Peak. Anyway, I at least got this whole badge passed off.
The backpacking merit badge was hard, but fun, no matter how hard it can be. I still think backpacking would be much easy if some environments weren't that difficult like Hayden's Peak. Until next time, I 'll tell you what other fun badge it was that I passed.

Aviation Merit Badge

I'm sorry it took a long time for me to try to get a new post up, I was busy with other things, like trying to get everything done for school before the end of the semester. Now since the holidays are over, I'm going back to tell you on how I earned each merit badge. Remember the others that I showed you of how I earned them? Well it'll all be the same as long as you want to know.

This badge I have passed off here, is Aviation. It's the study of flying vehicles. I had to learn about different kinds of planes and different types. Like army jets, passenger planes, and even farm planes that land on a farm. My Mom and I even got to take a tour to the airport of how Aviation works there. The tourguide showed us the different planes, and vehicles that can be used. And there were even meeting-rooms where they talk about planes and stuff. There's even a fire station at the airport, in case there were ever a plane crash at the airport.

And during the tour, for the first time since we ever had the chance to. The tourguide took us to a spot where we can see a plane landing right above our heads. Mom didn't like it, she thought it was too loud and too close to us. I thought it was amazing to see a real plane landing right to the airport.

Aviation was kind of fun, that was the last tour they ever let anyone have. They stopped doing airport tours, because, they were afriad there could be people trying to cause trouble or something. I don't know. Anyway, aviation was fun. until next time I'll tell you what other fun badge was.
